Introduction

The Department of Ophthalmology diagnoses and treats diseases in all fields of the eye, including corneal/refractive disorders, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal diseases, strabismus/optic nerve diseases, congenital/genetic diseases, and ophthalmic surgery.

The Department of Ophthalmology of Kyung Hee University Medical Center has been treating patients with special clinics for each specialization since early days. For each subdivided field, the best experts in Korea analyze and treat ophthalmic diseases and strive for a bright and clear life for patients.

In Department of intravitreal Avastin® injection was performed early, setting a new turning point in the treatment of retinal and choroidal diseases. Intravitreal Lucentis® injection was performed for the first time in Korea, further contributing to the development of intravitreal drug injection. In addition, by introducing the latest inspection equipment using laser and computer, we are performing fundus examination, fluorescence fundus imaging, and detailed examination of the retina and cornea. In addition, the optic disc analysis has been very helpful in the early detection and treatment of glaucoma, and we are performing LASIK and LASEK surgery by introducing advanced equipment.

Since the first corneal transplantation operation was performed on two people in July 1982, many patients have been able to lead a new life after receiving the corneal transplant. We are constantly working hard to find them.
