    Introduction

TThe department of prosthodontics pursues comprehensive prosthetic rehabilitation through customized consultation for each patient based on diagnosis using a variety of advanced analysis equipment.

Prosthodontic dental care is a clinical field that rehabilitates and improves the patient's masticatory function and esthetics by restoring missing or damaged teeth and surrounding tissues with artificial replacements. The major causes of tooth loss or damage include periodontal disease, dental caries, and trauma from an accident. Each patient has different causes of tooth loss and the degree of damage varies. Therefore, when patients visit the prosthodontic department, based on an accurate diagnosis and analysis for each patient, a prosthodontic treatment plan will be established and various treatments will be provided according to the patient's condition. Typical examples of treatment options include fixed dental proshtesis such as crowns, bridges and implants, removable dental prosthesis such as partial dentures and full dentures and implant overdentures. Moreover, esthetic prostheses can be provided according to patient’s demand, such as laminates and all ceramic crown. Maxillofacial prostheses and temporomandibular joint treatment are also provided. We will guide you through the various options for prosthodontic treatment through professional consultation.

We are operating a digital dental clinic by establishing ‘Digital Workflow’, which is a cutting-edge technology in prosthodontic field.

Oral scanners, facial scanners, and 3D printers are utilized for prosthetic treatment as needed.

    Treatment planning

Most of the patients visit dental clinic due to the damage or loss of teeth. The Department of Prosthodontics provides comprehensive dental care that satisfies patients by establishing a suitable treatment plan and following dental care for each patient. The main purpose of prosthodontic care is to restore the function of teeth and improving esthetics.

    Prevention of geriatric diseases

There are studies showing that tooth loss directly or indirectly affects geriatric diseases such as dementia. Since the chewing ability is reduced due to a decrease in muscle mass, restoration of dental function has an important influence on the patient's nutritional status and recovery of the general condition. The Department of Prosthodontics provides the best dental care by suggesting prosthetic treatment options suitable for elderly patients.

    Esthetic prosthodontic treatment

Although the main function of teeth is the masticatory function, the anterior teeth are esthetically important to the extent that they affect the overall impression. The Department of Prosthodontics suggests treatment options to provide the most esthetic results, via laminate and all ceramic crown, and also provides interdisciplinary treatment options in cooperation with the Department of Orthodontics. Based on 3D images using oral and facial scanners of the Digital Dental Clinic in the Prosthodontic Department, we provide and predict treatment results that satisfy both patients and dentists through digital consultations.
